Quentin Bryce Law Doctoral Scholarships
The Faculty of Law offers the Quentin Bryce Law Doctoral Scholarship (QBLD) for commencing Doctor of Philosophy students to promote and reward quality research within the faculty.
Value:
Benefits offered under the scholarships include:
· a stipend of $40,000 per annum for 3 years
· a research support fund of $1,500 per annum
· paid holiday, sick, maternity, and parenting leave
Separate support may be available for international students to cover tuition fees.

Metal ions play important roles in life processes including gene expression, oxygen transport and neurotransmission. Dysfunction of metal ions in brain can lead to neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or Parkinson’s disease (PD).

Science PhD Scholarship - Epigenetics of chlamydial infection
Chlamydial infections and their associated diseases are often asymptomatic and severe disease outcomes can take years to manifest. This project will apply bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput sequencing data to gain insights into fundamental chlamydial biology and disease pathogenesis by epigenetic dysregulation of the human genome.

Science PhD Scholarship - Next-Generation Latent Fingermark Detection Using Functional Nanomaterials
Interference from substrate chemistries and background luminescence is a major drawback of current fingermark detection methods. This project will address this issue through the development and validation of SiO2-based nanoparticles that have versatile surface modification abilities enabling the precise targeting of the fingermark secretion components.

Study Abroad Excellence Award
UTS International offers merit awards for commencing international students enrolling in study abroad programs. Awards are granted solely on the basis of academic merit. All study abroad students commencing in Autumn and Spring sessions 2017 and who meet the criteria will receive an Award.
Value:
The award will be granted at the point of offer and will be credited towards the first semester's study abroad tuition fees.
Each award is valued at up to A$2,000.00 (to be credited to first semester tuition fees).

Sue Connor Scholarship - Muscular Dystrophy NSW (External)
A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate in a relevant discipline to undertake research studies leading to a PhD. The Sue Connor Scholarship in 2016 is available to a scholar who wishes to undertake a PhD degree in the field of research into neuromuscular conditions.
Value:
The scholarship is valued at $39,000 per annum (tax exempt, if conditions are met) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

UTS - Rail Manufacturing CRC Scholarship -- Big Data Analytics for Condition Based Monitoring and Maintenance (now open)
This is a unique opportunity for PhD candidates who have a background in data mining, machine learning and pattern recognition areas. The scholarship is under the UTS-Industry Doctorate Program and jointly funded by UTS and Rail Manufacturing CRC.
Value:
Depending on satisfactory progress, the successful candidate will be awarded AUD$45,000 per annum (tax free) over 3 years with a possible 6 months extension (conditions apply). International students will also receive a UTS International Research Scholarship for their tuition fees.
