I am xx from Class 1, Grade 7. The theme of my speech under the national flag today is: to be an honest and trustworthy middle school student. To be honest is to be loyal and upright, to be consistent with ones words and deeds. Let us do the works of faith with a sincere heart. Honesty and trustworthiness are the traditional virtues of our Chinese nation, which have been spread far and wide since ancient times.
There are two kinds of people around us: one is honest and trustworthy, and the other is dishonest. Dishonest people will eventually pay for their dishonest behavior. One morning I came to school very early and found that there were also people in the classroom who came to school as early as me, they took out their textbooks and homework and looked carefully. I thought to myself: There are people who love learning more than me. But when I passed by them, I found that they were looking at two homework on the table and the right hand was furiously writing. Such a small act is enough to show that they are dishonest children. Homework is a small test that the teacher takes after class every day, if we dont complete it ourselves, then our shortcomings will never be corrected. My English teacher Miss Tan often says: "Honesty first, performance second, to be an honest person." Its not just English, its every subject. Mistakes, for us is not terrible, terrible is that we are not honest, can not find their own shortcomings, can not correct their own shortcomings.
Like a mirror, some good, some bad. So there are honest people in life, and there are dishonest people. Zhuangzi in the Spring and Autumn Period was a student of Confucius. He was an honest great man. There is a story about Zeng Zi, once Zeng Zis wife prepared to go to the market, because the child cried so much, he had to promise to kill the pig for him to eat when the child came back. When Zeng Zis wife came back from the market, she saw that Zeng Zi was going to kill a pig. She quickly stopped him: "You really did kill a pig. I was just playing with him." But Zeng Zi said: still a child is not sensible, everything with their parents to learn, promised him things must be done. good morning everybody.
it is true that most of us value honesty highly. however, nowadays we often confront confidence crisis such as cheating, overcharging, fake commodities and so on. i think that we should be honest because being honest is not only beneficial to ourselves but also to others and the whole society. the reasons can be listed as follows.firstly, only honest people can be truly respected by the others and can make more friends over a long period of time.
secondly, honesty, which is the traditional virtue of the chinese people, can make our life easier and more harmonious. thirdly, honesty can make our society more stable. a case in point is that singapore, a society featuring trustworthiness and integrity, has a comparatively low criminal rate.
responsbility can be understood in many ways. for the parents , they have had the responsibility for caring for and fostering their children since the birth of their baby.for teachers,both in kindergartens and colleges,they also should be responsible for the study and life of their students,that is to say,teahers are the second parents of children somewhile.
for us,as a friend of others,it is our responsibility to help our friends when they are in trouble or faced with difficulties. each one has the different responsibily based on their roles but we must take it for granted that we are responsible for the society.
